This attractive piece has been relined and restored and has emerged as an attractive and worthy example of equestrian art typical of the 19th century.

The dappled grey horse is standing quietly in his stable with the sheen of his coat glistening in the dim light. The portrait is indistinctly signed with the artists initials on the left side of the canvas. Now framed in a contemporary gilt frame in keeping with the period and nature of the painting, it once again presents as an appealing example of equestrian art of the period.
